Hello I've been looking around the forum and there is a lot about this mod but can't find the answer to my question.

Have a 14 2500 with tow mirrors crome looking to add the power fold. Now which part controls the memory and back up tilt, the mirror or module?
There doesn't seem to be lots on the memory and tilt. Will the 68225103AC work for this application?

Added a note to the OP that memory mirrors require heated/cooled seats/wheel with the memory option (heated seat n wheel module) & related wiring.

Tilt in reverse has been reported to work without the heated seats by others.

Adding this here from the AlfaOBD thread...
Unless I missed something in Alfa, these do not dim. I’m going to go back any double check the settings when I get a chance but looks like these PN don’t dim

There's a schematic in the power fold thread you can use to check the mirror pins at the module...
are post here.

Or you can pop the mirror glass out (very carefully) and check for 2 sets of wires attached to the back is the glass (2 wires for heating element & 2 for the dimming). Tow mirror glass is different and u believe there are YouTube videos (motor City mechanic) for blinker/signal light replacement that show how to remove it.

M² Mods.

Only 2 wires connected directly to the glass

View attachment 179424

Dang it. And nothing attached on the other of the glass?

@CincyCuda68
here's what the AutoDim EC connector looks like on the back of the Regular Power fold mirrors.
Q: you're sure you don't have anything extra behind there?

I’ll have to try to take the glass all the way out so I can see behind the very center. Not sure when I’ll get the chance but I’ll post you back as soon as I can.

Crap that video shows only removal of the small glass.

But the big glass comes out the same way. Pop the small mirror off then pop the large mirror.

No go on the autodim for the black memory tow mirrors with heat and powerfold.

I have all those functions already but everything I have found here mentions only the dimming mirrors which I don't have. The tilt, heat, chrome and power I do.

So my question is when I go to purchase the mirrors and modules, is it the module in the door that controls those functions or the mirrors themselves have the memory in them?

Well at least now we know on that PN

If you get the chance, can you confirm that passenger side is also non dimming?

Ok thanks wasn't sure if they were the same. Finally going to pull the trigger on this.
Note that it's likely neither of those tow mirrors you wired are AutoDim (driver side for certain).

There's another set with driver side only. Not sure if they are chrome capped or not. Ask Remen to be sure.

Just completed the swap to the power folding/turn-signal/puddle w/auto dim. OBD'd the functions and everything is working!

Shout out to Mpgrimm2 for the write up. It was critical in getting the right parts and configuring via alfaobd. I can confirm everything you wrote was correct as to my following swap info below and shout out to Benny @AllMoparParts for getting the modules and switch at the best prices anywhere!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Swap Info and P/N’s: All OEM equipment. Mirrors were purchased from same truck; matching set.

Mirrors:
Driver: ----- 68231241AI - Heated/Pwr-Fold/Turn signal/Puddle/Auto-Dim/black textured
Passenger: - 68263849AE - Heated/Pwr-Fold/Turn signal/Puddle/NON-Auto-Dim/black textured

Door Modules:
Driver: ----- 68225103AC
Passenger: - 68225102AC

Driver Door Switch:
68110867AB - Dual-connector (Note: 68110867AA will also work)

Total Costs for the swap: $333.68

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below is what was in my truck from the factory:

2015 Ram 1500 Express

Driver Mirror: ------ 68147863AH ---- Module: 68225101AC
Passenger Mirror: -- 68147862AH ---- Module: 68225100AC

Note: The heat and power adjust functions will work on the base door modules but the power folding, turn signals and approach (or puddle lights) will not.

My next upgrade is already on the way: 7” EVIC Cluster

Thanks!

I have purchased a set of power mirrors with puddle light and signal led.

They are installed in a 2014 Tradesman with manual locks/windows.

I have no door modules. I am looking to get 12v to the LED and the puddle lights but I need a pin out for this connector. I have scoured the web and several forum posts but no luck.

Can anyone help me out?

You are awesome Jimmy!
I’ll let you guys know how I make out.

Does anyone know if these lights will take a full 12v, I see some of the pins are 5v
