I have a V6 and use it similar to what you are asking. It has more than enough power for my needs. If you like to flat-foot it and like a V8 rumble then you'd be better off with the Hemi. I have a liter-bike that I use for my "fun" transportation :)
I've got 17's and really like the look better! Everyone and they brother has 20-22" wheels, and in my opinion it's overdone. Also, Jeeps are now stock with 285/70-17's. So you can find cheap used ones all over now. :)

Ok, my stock 2106 Ram outdoorsman had 265/70-17 tires. I upgraded to 285/70-17's a while back. I assume the gas miles my computer shows is incorrect because of that size difference? Seeing the new tires are 3.5% larger, I assume I can add that to the computers mileage to get my corrected gas...
