I have my phone setup for wireless Android so do not need access to it. The problem is that it is a Galaxy Fold and when closed to 2x thicker than most phones and does not fit anywhere easily in console. I have a wireless clamp style mount just need a decent easy place to mount it. Any ideas?

No, splice into the 7 pin part of the harness. The flat connector is just a bonus.
1 oclock position = 12 volt hot lead
3 oclock position = right turn/brake light

You can go this route and pull from the constant power from the harness. This way you aren't cutting into any original wiring. I used this for my LED taillight bar. The trailer plug is also pretty high AMP I believe...
So and update. I cleaned the connector at the tailgate with contact cleaner and used some Quicksilver dielectric grease and seems to be working 100% again. It had gotten to the point any type of moisture, rain or car wash caused it to go out. So finger crossed it stays good to go.
