    Synthetic Oil

    Just changed my oil with penz ultra platinum today. It was the first time I’ve changed it on my truck. I have to ask....was that a plastic oil pan? It didn’t look metal to me.

    I wonder myself if it’s an engine design issue. The cam lifters are failing, is it due to lack of oil reaching them?

    Cam failures and Molybdenum

    Not sure I buy this completely. It’s not Ram specific. High amounts of moly can lead to oil pump failures I believe. But based on what a lot of people on here are saying I’d agree the rams run better with it.

    Full Catch Can --> A Lot of "Blow by"

    Keep staying on the fence with catch cans. I read somewhere that the reason they collect so much oil is only because they end up condensing the vapor which causes the oil to come out of it. Normally it would stay in the vapor form and just be burned by the engine. Not sure which way to go. 125k...

    Still quieter at almost 2k miles since adding. I’ll most likely put some sea foam in it, run it for 300 miles and change it out at 3k miles and see if it ticks still. Will be putting in pup ultra with oil change.

    I feel like most of the stuff a catch can catches will burn off. I know there’s oil but a lot of it looks like water too. And doesn’t the catch can condense the vapor in the line?     Spark plugs??

    No mistake. I’ll never use champions. I’ve had nothing but problems with there plugs in the past on a stratus I used to own. Putting copper ones back in May give slightly better power, but man it’s a pia to change these plugs. Especially since there are 16 of them! Mechanic shops around here...

    2012 ram 5.7 hemi wont run right need help

    It sucks that it’s having these issues at only 160k. Mine has 105k (2011) now and this has me worrying a bit.
