I don't have the means really... if just a strait swap maybe, but having to drill out broken header bolts nix'es it for me really. But, that is some food for though just getting oem manifolds and letting shop install those instead of shorties - that is quite a cost savings over most shortie kits.- 78Staff

For me, I'm over 80K, so no warranty. OP may be different. I have no pressing need for shorties, but in my case, it acutally seems cheaper to go that route. There are several choices now - I recall a while back two options, one around $250 and one around $500 but iirc most were unhappy with...- 78Staff

Thanks, will check them out. Trying to decide on shorties, there's a few options out there from the $300 to $1000+ range basically. I would be leaning more towards the budget side - not the cheapest, but not 1K either. Seem like a few years ago there were only really two brands, now there...- 78Staff

Mine are starting to make the noise, just over 80K...figures. Anyway went the "the" Exhaust shop in town, was quoted $400 labor for each side to fix/replace, plus parts of course. Suprised me a bit b/c the book labor is just over 3 hours doing both sides. I guess they are incorporating the...- 78Staff

Headlights for dummies...
To follow up, ordered a replacement set of harnesses from Jeremy, installed today. New version has external power lead (for more reliable power I assume) as well as a DRL tap, although I use Alfa for DRL config so didn't hook that up. So everything is back to normal with the Old Dawg, and still... -
Hard tri fold questions
Had an Extang hard tri fold, leaked at the hinges after only a few months. Sent it back on warranty and upgraded to roll-n-lock. Much prefer the RNL, although I no longer have it either - sold it when I was going to switch to a shell, but wound up not doing that so am back to a soft folder for... -

Dropped the trailer in again, no issues, so must have just been a coincidence... Since I already have OEM Projectors, I think the simplest thing to do is either just buy the replacement harness, or just stay with the Quads and just sell the projectors maybe. I'd rather do one of these vs... -

So after working with Jeremy at RetroShop and doing some troubleshooting, cleaning up contacts, swapping lights/harness/etc we were able to determine it is an issue with my harness. Truck Wiring and Light/Lamp all work. They are several years old now so I am thinking on what to do next... -

yeah looking at the amazon one they talk about not fitting mirrors with lighting unless flush... mine are the oem chrome power fold mirrors but the puddle lamps to protrude down about 1/8" or so from the shell. So may not work. Will fine out tuesday, if not I willl just send them back. I... -

yeah, looking like Power Fold 2500/3500 mirrors are pretty spendy. I think I will try the slip on version, for $54 it's worth it to try them first I think, if they don't work well I can then move on to the replacement option. -
