    warranty denied

"The vehicle was limped home about a quarter mile at most." Thats not the same as shutting it down immediately when you first noticed the overheating.

Is anyone's oil NOT black immediately after an oil change?

It's the EGR valve. It pumps some of your exhaust back through the engine. Aren't emission controls neat, lol.

    Tow mode or not ?

Totally agree with ramffml. Cruise is also real bad for mileage, especially in hills. There's a reason tractor trailer drivers let their trucks run fast downhill, it allows them to partially coast up the uphill.

    Towing Florida to Colorado

Using cruise control is the worse thing you can do for mileage with a diesel. Pick up speed going downhill and use that extra speed to slowly let off the accelerator going uphill..

    need advice on oil please

3000 miles will not exhaust the cleaning properties of modern oil. What changed you asked, Nothing you answered. Actually, a lot has changed. Modern oil has vastly improved over the years. The lubricants and additives used are better and last longer. A good quality oil filter will keep your oil...

CUMMINGS CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION REGARDING PENDING EMISSIONS RECALL - 2022 Trucks

John Jensen is correct. I recently noticed on my 2022 Cummins H.O. that after a 3,000 mile mile trip towing an 8 000 pound travel trailer, my EVIC DPF gauge shows no DPF buildup. Shows as clean as the day I picked up the truck in December. The dealer also failed to mention the missing sensor.

    15% ethanol

We still have ethanol free here in Maine, at most stations. It's mostly high test and pricey but it's worth it for small engines like lawn mowers, etc.

    Greaseable vs non-greaseable U-Joints

Thanks Star, good to know. I'll wait until the weather warms a bit before I check it.

    Greaseable vs non-greaseable U-Joints

I have replaced U-Joints for a lot of years and have never heard that a non-greaseable U-Joint is stronger, but I wouldn't swear to it. If you buy a quality u-joint, like say a MOOG, it should last for over 100,000 miles, greaseable or non-greaseable, unless your truck is lifted, placing more...

    Build Time?

Stu, i ordered my 2022 3500 Cummins on May 13, 2021 in Maine. I was quoted a time frame of 12 to 14 weeks. I received my truck on 12-23-21. I ordered the towing and technology package and i was told by the dealer that it was delayed because RAM did not have the necessary parts for the towing and...
