    Oil Filter Thread

    I cannot find a Royal Purple filter right now. Had to use a Mobil 1 filter. I found some Royal Purple at Summit but they seem to have a different base number in the description. Anyone know what that means?

    I think it matters where the oil pressure is being read. I think at the filter at least the way I understand it is low pressure vs the outlet of the pump. I don't think it is always in bypass.

    Aftermarket Antenna

    If you have the original they gave a metal spiral that runs the length of the antenna. My new one that was shorter did not. It whistled like a banshee. Thought I had a windshield leak.

    Whatever you get make sure it has spiral wrap around. The one I bought did not and it whistled really loud. I went back to the original antenna but painted it black.

    Windshield replacement

    Getting my 2017 windshield changed after being hit by a large round metal object. Getting OEM glass at Safelite. Should I replace the side windshield trim or just leave as is?

    Somewhere I read that short antennas sometimes cause that whistle. That is what was causing mine.

    Still working. I think since the camera is in the front and not the bed cam the bed lights do not need to be on when the camera is on. Just a hunch.

    On my 2017 Rebel that is all I changed. I could not find the the CHMLED setting. Maybe I will need to after a few cycles. I don’t know yet. But it is working right now. It was my first time using Alphaobd. As always, YMMV

    Installed a front cam this week. Only setting I changed was CHML to yes. It works. Will see if it sticks. Thanks to all who put in the work on this thread.

    Installed a front cam. Found and installed solely from info on this forum. I really appreciate all the posts people make on their mods. The placement of the camera was my idea. That is all. Lol.     Sure. Just checked the link. $506 is a little steep for me. Just bought a OPT7 for $126. Looks cool though.
