Reman transmission recommendation
I wouldn't recommend Moveras (through one of the national chains). I got a 46RH from them last week and it lasted 50 miles before slipping. They were good at taking it back and refunding me, though- B250

Tricky. The problem with swapping engines from very different model years is the whole electronics system will be completely different. The 82 would have had a primitive ECU and maybe carbs? Knocking
If it's a LOUD knocking that doesn't go away engine cold or hot, idling or racing, it's likely your valve gear. Replace Neutral Starter Switch on 2002 Dodge Ran 2500 Cummins with Manual Transmission
Have a look behind the dash about where the brake pedal switch is for the stop lamps; it's usually clipped/bolted on up there. In fact you can bypass the switch as a quick (or permanent) fix - every other manual transmission outside the US works fine without them.- B250

In Rhode Island he would probably be able to get any tickets dismissed by a judge, unlesshe was stoned or drunk. If they give you KBB value, and you spent a lot on the extras, you can usually buy the vehicle at scrap value from the junkyard and get your parts back that way.- B250
