Anyone get any leaks with these? I've had them on a year or so with Remflex gaskets and I'm starting to get a tickticktick noise when I accelerate and an exhaust smell. I won't have a chance to check it out for a couple of days to see what's going on with it.
I had better luck with a tool like this one the first time I had to get them off my 2010.
OEMTOOLS 27308 Ball Joint Separator, Adjusts from 1-1/8 Inches to 2-1/8 Inches, Fits Common Ball Joint Sizes, Steel Separator Mechanism with Black Oxide Pins...
Isn’t the silver thing under the strut spacer a preload spacer? If so that shouldn’t be there with the Bilsteins. They should use the adjustable clip on the Bilsteins to raise height instead of the preload spacer + strut spacer combo.
I plan on replacing both of the U Joints on the rear driveshaft of my 2010 1500 4wd. I searched the forum but don't see many threads on U Joints for 4th gen 1500s. Any recommendations on brand or part number that I should get?
I appreciate the info, everything I saw before said the only way to get those was used. I checked them out and they are about $200 shipped so a little steep for what I need them for. I might consider it and see if I can re-sell the struts without the coil seat.
So I decided to go ahead and replace the LCAs. The problem I'm running into now is I have to reuse the spring seat from the stock strut to install my Bilstein 5100s. Well I didn't realize it before I started but the struts that were on the truck when I bought it (Speedy Strut) have a coil seat...
Unfortunately still not able to get it in. I'm going to buy a different brand of bushings to rule out an issue with the part and if that doesn't work I might just replace the whole control arm so I don't have to fight with it anymore.
