Who's sold their 4th gen lately?

I bought mine brand new 2 years ago, on a whim I looked to see what CarMax would offer me because there were no new trucks at the dealerships here in northern California, I was floored that they offered me $8500 over what I paid for it! I thought it was a mistake, I called them and they said the...

Do I need to get a RAM 2500?

WOW!...that is cheap gas and diesel...here in Californistan regular is $2.65-$3.00 and diesel is $3.00-$3.50...taxes are a killer and we probably have some of the worst roads in the nation.

Do I need to get a RAM 2500?

maybe the video was of an older 2500 with the 5.7 and six speed? otherwise it just doesn't make sense to struggle...My trailer is 6500 lbs. dry, easily 7500 lbs. loaded and my 2019 2500 6.4 tows it like a dream, that new 8 speed is a game changer.... compared to my 2017 ecodeisel it is like...

Do I need to get a RAM 2500?

As others have said, you made a good choice with the combination of your trailer and 6.4 2500...it is much beefier in the frame, suspension and brakes. and you won't get the 'pitch' that is worrying you, that most likely is from the trailer just basically pushing you around, it happened with me...

Do I need to get a RAM 2500?

Not sure why you think the 2500 has less towing capacity...my towing capacity on the 6.4 2500 is 14, 970 lbs. and that is with the 3.73 gearing, if you went to 4.10 you could max out at around 16,300 lbs. depending on your configuration.

Do I need to get a RAM 2500?

Exactly!...lack of payload is why I sold my 2017 crew cab ecodiesel that I really loved, it had a payload of 1540 lbs. After hooking up my trailer with a hitch weight of 850.lbs I didn't have enough capacity left to take what I needed in the truck. I bought a new 2019 6.4 2500 with a payload of...

2020 Camping season.....over before it starts?

Was all set to take our new 2500 and trailer to Vegas for two weeks mid April from Northern CA. Like most we had to cancel...hopefully a trip to Colorado in July if the zombie apocalypse doesn't hit.

Did you buy a Gasser or a Diesel?

When in doubt...always go with D)

Did you buy a Gasser or a Diesel?

Had a 2017 Ecodiesel and I pull a 6,500 lbs. travel trailer, it did well, my only problem is I ran out of payload real quick (my bad)...one of the reasons I got the crew cab was so we could take friends with us when we go camping, after doing the numbers that 1540 lbs. payload wouldn't be...

    Project Farm Air Filter Tests

I am quickly learning there are three things you never talk about...religion, politics and k&n filters. One thing I have learned in over 40 years of driving and buying new cars (I have a bad habit of doing that every three years) is dealers hate aftermarket products...they are always to blame...

    Project Farm Air Filter Tests

I agree with your statement 100%. The reason this conversation (at least on my part) was to see if k&n was as bad as so many say, it seems it is almost a cottage industry, the trashing of k&n..I had heard this in various user forum for years... almost always anecdotal 'proof' without a lot of...

    Build Sheet Vs. Windows Sticker

Easy way to get your window sticker, Go to Mopar.com.... sign up, put your vin number in and it will generate all the info on your vehicle including the window sticker on the bottom right side of your dashboard. Mine is a 2019, not sure how many years back it will go.

    Project Farm Air Filter Tests

One would think that would be the the case, but with the k&n it isn't. The true test on how well an air filter is working is in a used oil analysis, the site I will link to has done multiple oil analysis on k&n filters and has shown that the k&n filters out more dirt than an OEM filter.
