I've managed to improve the bass a bit in my truck (Laramie, 8.4" 4C Nav, HK stereo).
First I packed some shipping blankets behind the rear passenger seat over the sub which helped mute it a bit, but not enough.
The bass has a strong boost in the mid-bass frequency range (maybe 60Hz - not sure...
I just got a Laramie with HK, and the bass is definitely, as you put it, boomy. Muddy without any definition. I've also lowered the bass via EQ significantly, but it's still annoying.
All I can think is it has a ported subwoofer and is tuned for the style of "music" where that type of bass is...
Yes it will, but that's not the question. To get to a preset just prior to the one playing you'd have to press the center button many times, but if the up/down buttons addressed the presets it's one down.

The left-side upper/lower radio controls on the back of the steering wheel do a seek when listening to the Radio, but I'd like them to traverse to the next/previous preset instead. Radio station seek is pretty much useless for me as I know...

I've seen several trucks for sale which would otherwise meet my needs except they had tow mirrors. Does anyone know if...
I had thought about replacing both the heater core and evaporator, but I'm not having any problems with either one so I let them be. After doing the dash replacment I think I can pull it again in about an hour, and there's enough stories about leaky replacement heater cores out there that I...
I recently completed the replacement of the upper dash on my truck and I wanted to share a few photos.
While I've read about people replacing the upper dash panel without completely pulling the dash from the truck I don't see how that's really possible and certainly would be much more...
