I would skip the shorty headers and go with long tube headers No matter what cam you go with I would install new Mopar 392 lifters/hell cat lifters and springs- cammed

Trans wouldn’t shift out of first then after restart shifted fine
Check volts on your battery below 80% could not be getting right amount of volt signal to the trans and if its a 8 spd trans you could check fluid level when temp is @ 100* if its good find a transmission shop let them reflash your trans and drive around for awhile. Check connection towards back firewall you might have to pull off engine cover. wire harness connection
