    Disconnected cruise control hose

Maybe no one will make use of my having fixed this issue, but I'll post it anyway, just in case. All I had to do was splice a new vacuum line and check valve into the main vacuum harness to run to the cruise control servo. It was less than $10 to fix! Obviously whoever replaced the engine...

    Disconnected cruise control hose

So here's the issue. The servo underneath the battery has 2 lines: one runs to the throttle assembly and the other to, well, I don't know. And that's where the issue appears to be because it isn't connected to anything. From other pics I've seen online there should be a vacuum line that runs...

    Two positive battery terminals? (V10)

Thanks for your reply! It slipped by me, obviously! Thankfully, the truck is still starting up great. Yes, the extra lead is gone now, with the original one hooked up. I'm not the first owner. It had a similar mileage engine put in it about 5,000 miles ago. I'm hoping that whoever put the...

    2500 V10 5spd; good truck?

Got the same as 392DevilDog except a couple years newer with 167k. I've had it a few months now, with a few issues but none directly motor related. Had to clean the IACV and throttle body to cure a weird throttle/idle issue, very easy fix. Other than that, 4x4 doesn't engage until the truck is...

2001 Ram 2500 SLT good deal?

That's cool. I love the looks of our brown Rams! It has a few issues beyond what I've already posted. Pretty sure there's a vacuum leak somewhere because speed control won't set (hose that connects servo to the intake is disconnected on the intake end, not sure where it hooks up) and also, 4wd...

    Two positive battery terminals? (V10)

If anyone was curious what the outcome of this was, I took it to my mechanic (who I'm working for now!) and he agreed the extra terminal cable connector from the PDC was probably part of the slow/no start issue I've had. I was going to come back later so he could work on it, but as it turns out...

What did you do to/with your second gen today?

Got the front bumper cover painted, and the right side emblem changed recently. Replaced the headlights and grille a while ago. Still have to repaint the pillar between the side windows black and repair rust on the left rear wheel well. The interior is beautiful now, too. I think it's coming...

    Two positive battery terminals? (V10)

Hey y'all, not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but, does anyone know why there's a positive battery cable with an extra terminal connector? It runs directly from the starter. There's a slightly smaller cable that connects it to the fuse box. Where that cable connects in the fuse box is...

2001 Ram 2500 SLT good deal?

Well, Moose has been great to drive but I had an issue where the throttle body OR the IACV got too dirty and caused performance problems. That's all good now. But, this time, I had driven it about 1/2 a mile and I heard a weird noise from under the hood. I pulled over almost immediately to go...

    Ram 2500 8.0 V10 issue

Yeah, I thought about buying a new IACV and TPS, but I called all the parts stores nearby and none had them, would've had to be special ordered. I'm glad it was just the dirty IACV! That sounds kinda scary. Way to add some adventure to a camping trip haha. My situation was a little more...

    Ram 2500 8.0 V10 issue

Hey, so I figured you'd like to know what the issue was: The throttle body or idle air control valve was dirty! My mechanic said to pull them out and clean them, and whaddya know, it worked! Just a $9 fix!

    Ram 2500 8.0 V10 issue

It seems it's a mechanical issue causing clunking/bucking when pressing/releasing the gas pedal. It isn't the steering, but it sounds like it comes from somewhere between the engine and transmission and sorta feels like a misfire, but no check engine lights are on. It's pretty hard to describe...

    Ram 2500 8.0 V10 issue

Hello! I recently bought the 2500 about a month ago and during a 500 mile trip I was on, a weird issue came up. When I give it gas, it bucks around about 1-4 times and goes back to normal. It does the same thing pretty often when I let off the gas. If I can keep the gas pedal in a steady...

Pics of your 2nd gen ?

2001 Ram 2500 V10 5-speed, 4x4. Got some plans to spiff this thing up, like rust removal, slotted grille inserts, etc. I've had it a month and loving it so far!

2001 Ram 2500 SLT good deal?

Manual is more fun to drive anyway! I'm not so sure I would've bought it with an automatic. Not as fun and like you said, not as reliable. And yeah, I would love to see what a modern V10 would be like. Everyone gave up on them too soon! Can't wait to have time to get some fun stuff on my truck...
