2014 1500 Vararam on 6.4
When I did my swap I already had the Vararam and 5.7 intake. Buying the 6.4 manifold along with a new intake was going to be around $1,300. I’ve done it by hand and torqued to spec before and have also don’t the impact and called it good, never seen an issue with either. No Lube, raw dog it in there. Use the old one to push it in and seat it, then swap it out for your new one and torque it down.- Crooks1130

Dipstick Mounting
I honestly can’t remember on factory manifolds, but on my headers I fished the dipstick through them and bent it a little to mount to the front bolt like you are saying. If this were the case, the cam would be ruined also. @CrasherAsher I’m assuming the top end is all good? Also I’m curious how much you really got on it once you got behind the wheel. Yes we should avoid excessive idling, but during a break in the ring seat process needs different ranges of RPM. Not sitting for 5-10 minutes at idle. I’m not sure if you could call oil pump being the issue because the sump tube was full of debris and the debris made it to the top of the engine and into the vvt solenoid. Now I will say it is possible for something I’m the top end to fail and send metal particles down into the oil then pumped back into the crank, eventually getting in between the journal and rod bearing, but you would very easily see the broken part to cause that in the top end. Another way to tell is the bolt holes at the exhaust ports. 3 are in the same position and the 4th is the opposite. The one that is opposite goes to the back of the engine.- Crooks1130

Engine cuts off when decelerating ??
What RPM is it at when it does? Although mine is a “high performance” build, it does this same thing if I let it set for a while and the fuel gets a little old. Mine does at very low RPMs when slowing down though, normally under 900.- Crooks1130
