    Heat 2nd gen

Hi I’m back again. I just went through replacing the crank sensor and cam sensor as well as new cap and rotor. Truck is running great but, always a but, I now have no heat. Is the blend door vacuum operated and could I have knocked a vac line loose when working blindly on the cap/ rotor or cam...

99 ram 1500 PU stalling then no start

Little further followup. All is well with the Mopar sensor. Truck starts and runs really well. I returned the Delphi part to Rockauto and was notified this morning that I have credit on my acct for the full price paid including the shipping charge. I could have requested a refund to my debit...

99 ram 1500 PU stalling then no start

I received my Mopar crank sensor late Saturday too late to install. Yes, side by side with the Delphi unit they are both the same length. The new Mopar looks just like the original with the breather holes and exposed pickups. On the negative side, this one is hecho en Mexico.

99 ram 1500 PU stalling then no start

Pretty sure they are same length but not 100% positive. I will check this when I remove the original again.... prob a couple of days, we have rain on the way.

99 ram 1500 PU stalling then no start

Here is a side by side(hopefully) of the original Mopar vs. replacement Delphi Delphi on left(bottom) solid plastic body. Original has breather holes(?) and exposed metal pickup.

99 ram 1500 PU stalling then no start

Hello again, Before checking fuel pressure and spark decided to reinstall the original crank sensor and then if no go proceed to those other tests. Well, putting in the original got the truck started up and has been running for a while. I did just rub some of the rust off surface of the...

99 ram 1500 PU stalling then no start

Fast69Mopar, Thank you for the reply. I have not verified spark and fuel pressure but will today. Also, since the truck would start and run for a while with the original crank sensor I am going to reinstall it and see if the truck will start. I have feeling I'll be sending the 2 made in...

99 ram 1500 PU stalling then no start

Hi, Pretty new here and to Ram. Out of the blue about 2 weeks ago my 99 started stalling and became undriveable for the day so I left it at work. Later that night I started it up and let in warm up so a co-worker could possibly follow me home in case it acted up again. After warming up for about...

    2nd Gen parking brake adjustment????

Needed to replace both cables for the parking brake. Everything is back together and am at the adjustment stage. The haynes book says to " tighten the adjusting nut at the equalizer until the mark on the tensioner rod moves into alignment with the tensioner bracket" . My adjuster is brand new...

Bolts and nuts linked with thin metal tabs

Was working on my 2nd gen over the weekend(new to me) . While taking off the rear bumper assembly to replace noticed some of the nuts/ bolts are linked together. Long story short out came the hacksaw blade to complete the job. When these things rust and fail there really is no way to get a...

Thanks dodge dude94! The info about the square socket came from a source on this site along with tightening specs for different years. I found the info here: 94+ Ram AT band adjustment I just reread some of it and there is a post from 1999 that states he needed the square socket. My truck is...

1/4" square socket for square head bolt????

Hi, Brand new member here but have been lurking for a short while. I was looking thru the info for Auto trans service for 2nd gens and came across band adjusting. Info about the process mentions a 1/4" square socket to adjust the 1/4" square head bolt. Looking thru various places and see no sign...
