Slant six questions
I have an 81 with the computer on the air breather, I haven’t used my truck in a couple years so I wanna get back into it. I would like to ditch the computer and go back to a simpler hassle free ignition, what would be the best set up? What to do I have to order and the best place to order from?- D150dude

Dash replacement
well so far I’m not having luck finding a 72-80 rust free cab, all of the ones I’ve found have all had a floor like Swiss cheese and I’m not a body man and don’t have the ability to weld all new floor pans. Can the 72-80 dash and gauges be fit to the 81-87 cabs? I love the looks of the earlier... -

Engine swap maybe
im thinking of replacing my slant 6 with a 318, will the 318 bolt up to the transmission and will the motor mounts match up? I mentioned this to a friend he said none of the stuff will match up and probably would have to modify all my mounts- D150dude

Other then that there’s still a major problem. If it runs great for 9 months then all this starts to happen there’s still something wrong. I don’t know where to go next- D150dude

It is my daily driver, yes I’d like to convert it to a better ignition, when I bought it I had to redo my wiring and I also put on a remand ecm unit but the truck ran perfectly and would drive it 150km round trip to work every now and again- D150dude

So I took it out again to see and it feels like I have a deadbolt spot around 50km where the truck feels like it just died but it’s still running what would cause it to feel like a dead spot?- D150dude
