Stock Everything Audio - Best Budget Upgrades?

+1 as just above. My truck had just 4 speakers - two doors, two behind the single bench seat. It came with none in the dash. Simply popping the dash covers off and inserting a pair of 3.5” Kicker-brand coax mid/tweeters woke it right up. I can’t believe I am writing this but it actually...

    5th Gen 2019+ Foglight Add-on harness

If your light switch is not split across the center like the one shown earlier in this thread, then you need a new one.

How to fix computer for tire changing??

Thought I’d share a few photos of my ride with the “new” 20” wheels on it. Just a bit bigger and they fill out the wheel wells so much better than the 17’s. Not sure, but I think I read that the 20” wheels were from a “Night Edition” option on a higher trim level?

How to fix computer for tire changing??

Another option exists. I was going to use AlphaOBD like we all do as I just swapped out my OEM 245/70R17 wheel/tires for a set of 285/60R20 OEM take-offs. However, I also have the Edge Pulsar piggy-back tuning module installed. That allows me to reset tire size along with gear ratio so I...

    5th Gen 2019+ Foglight Add-on harness

Got the AlphaOBD work done over lunch today. Success! A few changes in AlphaOBD since the last time I did this. Remember to look for “Car Configuration Change” as a drop down under all the diagnostics you can do. Then you can type the word “fog” into the “Find” box and see all the hits for...

    5th Gen 2019+ Foglight Add-on harness

Now I’ve got the installation work complete. I’ll code it tomorrow to finish up. Following tips here, I pulled out all three of C1-C3 and then pulled the harness away from the BCM to release the tree clip. Pop the tab on one side of C1 to slide the cover off. New wire pops right in the open...

    5th Gen 2019+ Foglight Add-on harness

Here’s all that’s left to do. Pull out connectors C1 and C4 from the BCM and insert the two wires as marked. Once I finish that up, I’ll use AlphaOBD to tell the BCM that it now has fog lights to control. Connector C1 is top left. C4 is partially obscured at top right in this photo.

Now we’re running harness wires up and back, under the hood. The new harness is set up to attach the grounding spade connector at a factory ground location right next to the fuse box. Here’s where you connect the ground. In this view, the left side is the top. The ground under the...

    5th Gen 2019+ Foglight Add-on harness

Making progress. You can see where the harness snaps into the brackets on the truck. The connector snaps into two closely-spaced holes just above the left fog light. Then you run the wires up.

    5th Gen 2019+ Foglight Add-on harness

This post is intended to help us figure out what extra fasteners we need - BEFORE we crawl under our trucks. You can see that each fog light assembly needs 3 screws to secure it into its housing. They make the fourth opening an indexing tab so you cannot possibly get the light in upside down...

    5th Gen 2019+ Foglight Add-on harness

Ok, I’ve got all of my required parts now. Note the part number for that simple light switch with only one wheel - to dim the instruments. It’s 68373903AB - 001. You can see the other bags with their part numbers on them.

    Fog lights on a Tradesman

Look what Mpgrimm2 sent me. Can you tell his harness from the OEM? Nice work! Now to install it all.

    Fog lights on a Tradesman

That wheel on the left will likely adjust your “mood lighting” (“if equipped”) or whatever they call the pinpoint light sources in your door panels, at your feet, etc. Doubt that our Tradesman trim levels are so equipped though. My last Scat Pack Challenger was, however.

    Fog lights on a Tradesman

I bought a new truck and I will be doing this same mod once again! So, I'd be glad to have the add-on harness you make rather than cut (once again) the 16-pin plug off of the factory harness that is on its way to me. Let me know?

Opinions on Base 6 speaker upgrade

I got the Kicker 3.5’s for my truck - which came with just 4 speakers. Cf sent me the proper adapters for my front dash corner locations. I had already checked and was happy to see that the factory had already put the wiring in place for the 6 speaker “upgrade.” Plug and play and by adding a...
