    Thanks for the info. Everybody has been a great help. I think I'll end up going with this: https://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-R500X1D-1-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00BF6HYDE It's a bit cheaper than the Alpine and already comes with the control knob ($35 extra for the Alpine knob).

    Whatever you decide, I would stay away from a Rustmaster, unless you want to buy a new muffler again after 2 or 3 years. I can see the appeal of the Mufflex mufflers if you want a bit more sound, but not too loud. I have the Carven Progressive with 5" tips and there's nothing quiet about it...
