Should have been more clear. Here is the harness it connects to. The red connector is where it goes. I'm more concerned about over stretching this wire.
I'm replacing my 4.7 with another. Can someone tell me what the wire in the picture is for? It connects to a wiring harness on top of the bell housing. I missed it while removing the engine. It did not break but I put some stress on it before I got it disconnected.

Did you ever get a proper diagnosis? I have exact same sound. 2 dealerships and nothing solved. Changed alternator and belt. I've spun every pulley by hand several times . Can't find an answer. Driving me crazy.
