    Console removal

I always like to write a follow up to my posts because I know someone in the future is going to go searching for the information I was looking for, so here goes: The console in my truck has the shifter, so it is a little different from what was posted here. There are six fasteners that hold the...

    Console removal

Thank you all. GTyankee, many thanks, that should be everything I need. DILLIGAF, thanks for the link. I'm not where I can download the manual, but if I can get that, it's huge. Jim BB, thanks for the link, but I've already seen it and there's really nothing useful in it.

    Console removal

Thanks for the info. I am guessing there are six bolts. Three on each side that I can find. I was hoping someone could confirm that for me before I actually tackle it. I have scoured the internet and apparently this is the only procedure on the planet that no one has posted a video about. If I...

    Console removal

2013 Ram 1500. I need to remove the dash to get at the heater box. Watched all the YouTube videos on getting the dash out, but none of them are on a truck with a center console, and I'm pretty sure the console will have to come out to make room to get the dash out. Can anyone tell me in less...

    Loctite?

To be honest I didn't look close enough to see if the nut had any kind of a locking feature. I will certainly have a look at that before I reassemble the truck. If the nuts are fiberlock or other locking device, they should probably be replaced. Are they available without buyig new tie rod...

    Loctite?

Replacing a wheel bearing on our 2013 Ram 1500 4x4. Surprised to see no cotter pins in the ball joints or the tie rods. What keeps the nut from backing off??? Should these be Loctited?

    Leaking oil drain plug

No question the drain plug was over-tightened but the fact that the pan on this vehicle is made out of tinfoil had a lot to do with it.

    Leaking oil drain plug

What is it about the drain valve that would stop the leak?

    Leaking oil drain plug

2013 Ram Outdoorsman. Bought it about a year ago with about 80,000 miles. First oil change I find the drain plug torqued to about 9 million foot pounds. As I'm loosening it I can actually see the oil pan distorting. Now the drain plug leaks - not real bad, but enough to put a stain on the...

    New spark plugs @ 100,000?

Agreed. My son recently picked up a '14 with the 5.7 and I suggested he should at least check the plugs since the truck didn't come with any maintenance records. We pulled a couple out for a look and they looked fine but I sure didn't like the way it felt as they came out. We pulled them all...

    Hemi tick follow up

Where does one find a 700 page owners manual? The manual with our truck is basically a pamphlet.

    How to read the dipstick

Congratulations, you're absolutely correct. It was late, I was tired, and I was just looking over his shoulder while he did his first oil change on this thing. This is the first Ram either of us has worked on. We are both Chevy guys and on the GM products the oil dipstick is yellow, and the...

    How to read the dipstick

Never thought I`d be posting such a stupid question. I`ve been working on vehicles for 45 years but this is my first experience with a Ram. I was helping my son do his first oil change on the 2013 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 that he bought recently. Book calls for 6.7 liters of oil. I would...

    What is this for?

I have exactly the same situation. New to us 2013 Ram Outdoorsman. Was under the hood today and I see the underhood light has been disconnected. When I plugged it in, it didn't work. Is it controlled by a switch or something? If not, it mus be a bulb problem. Also why would it be...
