Has anyone actually tested the temperature of the rear differential fluid after long towing events? I almost bought into the banks ram air rear diff cover, but figured that my rear differential is designed to handle a Cummins putting out 900 ft/lbs of torque, while I’m hitting it with the power...
the only use for the bypass is if you tow very heavy loads. When I had mine on it would take forever to warm under normal summer driving conditions, maybe 140-150 range. If your towing heavy up grades having that cooler temp will help keep you cooler as you reach the top of the mountain.

I tried the reusable filter gasket that came with it and it was a mistake, leaks. Drained and used RTV and been awesome. I knew the reusable gasket wouldn’t work because I also tried it on an older vehicle with 5-45 years ago with the same result. Can’t beat the RTV.
I have the mag-hytec 45/545 pan that is +2 quarts on my 66rfe. Works great. Has a drain plug, cooling fins. I have read that aftermarket pans like these add a lot of rigidity and strength to the transmission. I am not sure if it was the pan adding the rigidity or if it was the steel threaded...
When I had mine installed it was running 140-150 at the hottest in 100 degree temps. I took it off when I moved back to the very cold northern state three years ago. I have the mag hytec pan which also provides cooling and is an extra two quarts.
I got caught up in the VW 3.0 TDI defeat device/ scandal with a Touareg my wife had. We took the $11k and had is reprogrammed by the dealer. It began shifting much higher in the RPM range and lost a couple MPG. It also had increase DEF fluid usage. I think it lost 10hp and 15 ft/lbs of torque if...
figured you could figure it out. That pump is sold at every store…. Home depot, harbor freight, lowes, auto zone, etc etc etc. Amazon…. Google small red pump and you can find it for less than $15 anywhere
I used a pump like this to changed my fluid a few times on my old 545rfe when I didn’t want to drop the pan. Seemed to work pretty good. Tube slides right down into the pan
I don’t really see any shavings inside the picture of the oil pan. The entire posting is just confusing. Who knows?!? It’s funny the issues some people have and then jump onto a forum and post about it vaguely.
I see posts about 2011 Jeep grand Cherokee hemi 5.7 oil pan. They are saying the...
I have Falken A/T’s on mine. Probably 25k miles on so far and will get another 15-20k out of them. The original firestones were slicks after 23k miles.
