Engine shut off
This is a feature that can be enabled/disabled in the Cummins ECM by any dealer or an independent shop with a quality scan tool. The lower end scan tools will not be able to change this setting. Also, just to give you a hard time, please don't call it a "Cummings" haha.- Fast69Mopar

Did you do any further diagnostics besides inspecting the VCT Solenoid and finding metal shavings? I hope you didn't condemn the entire motor because of that. Gear ratio problems
The original NV3500 in your truck had a 5th gear ratio of 0.73:1 The NV4500 has a 5th gear ratio of 0.75:1 0.73 to 0.75 is not enough of a difference to notice while driving. What oil have you been using during oil changes? Drivers side power seat
My best guess would be failed seat track motors that adjust the track. Get yourself a DVOM and a test light. You can probe the connectors at each motor to verify that the motor is receiving a power signal when you operate the switches.- Fast69Mopar
