    Gas mileage variable

Yes there is a difference. They order it with varying amounts of ethanol, ranging from zero to 10%. Newer holding tanks at the station have stricter leakage/water percentage allowances. Top Tier is still in shortage in some areas, my local Sinclair still isn't able to get it. It's also normally...

    Cybertruck 1 Ram 0

Here's another cyber truck crash. Person in the truck was injured, Toyota driver was fine. https://youtube.com/shorts/tpMex91JIQg?si=4nxxvV8a3gTLF6Jc

    How's this for CRAZY....

It's all the new stupid proof driving features, like lane departure, automatic braking, etc. I believe there's sensors inside the rearview mirror. I bet it's the combo of dead battery, and the Safelite guy screwing up the calibration (it probably plugs into the OBD2 port) with the wrong settings.

    washer sprayer weak

I wonder how well it would work to flush some warm soapy water through the system to clear any partial clogs. I've never had this problem, and use the Walmart brand washer fluid. I always use the blue in the summer and purple in the fall/winter. Worked well down to -45 last month.

Has anyone performed an engine relocation?

I've got about 150lbs of sand in buckets right against my tailgate, and it makes a huge difference. Most big box stores will help you load, and having them in buckets makes it easy to slide them forward when I need to actually use the bed, and keeps them dry and from freezing if I need traction...

    Little Black Box

Crazy idea but I'd pop that sim in my phone and see if it's active. Would be sweet to have free service lol. But this would only work on an unlocked phone.

2004 dodge ram 1500. Nasty yellow stuff

Could also be a bad pcv valve. Changing that helped my girlfriend's jeep with the 4.7 (I'm pretty sure it's the same engine) but that thing always produced a lot of buildup even if it wasn't being short tripped. Ran fine and had no signs of water in the oil. Pcv valve was cheap and easy to...

Inside of front windshield frosted over.

Mine does this if it's below -20 and I've been doing short trips not getting the cab warmed up. Setting it to defrost and not full hot (about 80%) helps pull the moisture out of the air for me. Last week it hit -39 and our work van didn't warm up at all - I left it run/drove short trips for 5...

    More EV Wintertime Fun

I'm not in Edmonton, but it did hit -39 last week where I live and it didn't really affect the people I know with Tesla's. Ones brand new and the other is a few years old. Both cars are kept between 40% and 80% charge, and only drive a few miles a day. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to...

Rear diff blew, locked up, snapped driveshaft

The first time my dad's went out, it started growling, then a short time later lost all power to the rear end. The second time, it locked up solid with no warning doing 80mph down the highway. Twisted the driveshaft, destroyed the transfer case, and most of the rear suspension. My guess is heavy...

    Pre-winter Maintenance - What's On Your List?

I can't believe nobody mentioned switching to winter blend blinker fluid. But in reality, I use napa silglide on all my rubber bits, including bushings and door seals. It's got the consistency of petroleum jelly, and can help worn seals get a good seal.

    Ram computer update glitch

Reminds me of the anti piracy "you wouldn't download a car" sketch they used to show before movies. But seriously, what is "California compliant gasoline"? I thought they required oxygenating fuels which is usually ethanol blend, and sold everywhere. Or am I way off base with California's BS?

A new engine it is! LOL

Guys in the rust belt might disagree - I mean, at least your truck isn't turning to dust as you drive

    87 vs 89 octane

So I have to wonder, is the "regular" gas in your area really 87, because in my area it's 85. Higher elevations require less octane - lower air density means lower compression. My truck has a mild tune from the previous owner and I have to bump up to 91 when I go lower in elevation, but runs...

    Winterizing your truck

I run that year round. I don't usually put enough milage on my truck to do an oil change every 6 months, and it can snow just about any day of the year.
