Took some time today to get my install done. It went super smooth thanks to this thread. Got the hub and cabin antennas installed with the push to start button. Had to use Pin 0000 to program the first key then I was able to use my regular pin. Once both keys were programmed, the truck started...
Since I have half the wiring done at the first connector and I've identified 5 being signal and 6 being ground, can't I just splice into them? Ground wire 6 then extend wire 5 to the C1 connector and connect it to pin 11?
@DoughRat19 Thanks for the reply. I checked and looks like I have half of the wiring which sucks. Here are the front and back pics.
From the pics can you tell which side I would need? Going into the truck or the connector?
Just want to make sure I have these steps right before I proceed with my install this week.
I'm activating remote start as well and I installed the new hood latch. I already have the hood latch harness. That was pre-installed in the truck but I read on some threads that I still may need to...
@DoughRat19 Just wanted to follow up. I couldn't get 68319680AE since they're on backorder so I went with the recommended one for my 2016 (68245484AE). I found a remote start antenna for 30 bucks used on eBay so the cost wasn't that much higher. Also the push button appears to be on back order...
Just want to verify. Will 68319680AE work on a 2016 even though it shows it "doesn't fit"? The recommended one for mine is 68245484AE but it cost more and will cost even more to add remote start to it. Any functional differences between them to where it wouldn't work? Thanks!
Finally got it back. It’s fixed. They replaced the rocker arms in the engine to get rid of the dreaded ticking noise and a piece near the catalytic converter was broken off which was causing the grinding/squealing noise so they replaced the whole part. Luckily all of this was covered under...
So they figured out what was causing it. It was a bracket on the catalytic converter so they replaced the whole thing. I should be able to pick it up this week and I will test it.

Another update: so turns out my dealer didn’t have it In the system that I had a Powertrain warranty but got that straightened out. The leak ended up being oil from the oil cooler. They replaced the entire unit. That’s fixed but now the squeal is still there. They are taking a further look to at...
Well got an update. This may not be related but a leak started under the transmission oil pan. It appears to be a dark brown color. I was going to just replace the seal until I noticed the color. This truck was used and most likely is the original fluid so it will need to be changed. I got the...
Hey everyone! This is my first post. I bought a 2016 RAM 1500 crew cab with a 3.6 Pentastar. Has been a great truck but I started noticing this noise when driving. It sounds like a metallic squeal noise. I can’t get it to do it when it’s parked but when the truck is in motion that’s when it...
