    You are absolutely spot on, the poppet in the filter is ~ .180 deeper than the known Mopar filter. I don't know if that validates it's a bogus filter but it sure is defective. The only details other than the poppet are labeling on the filter and the box doesn't have a mfg date.

    Thanks for sharing the info. I'll check the depth of the valve for the OE to the replacement filter. I bought filters from the dealership and if you compare the Amazon units the packaging and labeling looks identical. I'll look closer and see if I can find differences.

    Its been 3 weeks and nothing. Contacted the local dealership and learned if your shopping for a new truck they are very responsive but if its a service call don't expect a call back.

    Good for you, that's how it should work. The most time consuming task is the alignment recheck, if they do it.

    These GM's need to create a efficient process. I do my best to never take my vehicles to the dealerships and reading all of their BS I don't feel bad about loosing my cool on an incompetent tech writer and his management team.

    IMO, and I haven't experienced this, It looks like the welds can be ground and the jam nuts loosened. They would need to reweld after final adjustments. It'll get sloppy looking.
