I'll have to pay attention. They definitely stay on for a bit after closing the door.
There's so many lights that are on with a door open, or even after it closes. Not exactly stealth camping style.
Follow up six months later:
I was swapping out OEM halogen headlamps and disconnected the negative battery post. AMP steps stopped working again. I was testing each new LED bulb and reconnecting the battery, and the steps began working again. They are finicky.
Thanks oe542bob
Did AMP warrantee the controller?
"The 30A bladed fuse looked okay, but when I replaced it the steps worked again."
After giving it some thought, I don't think the fuse was bad. I think it was the pulling of the fuse that allowed the controller to reset itself.
I did use...
Thanks, mtnrider.
I had checked the factory fuse box, but after research I learned AMP also has an inline fuse on the harness, just below where it connects to the positive terminal array on the battery. The 30A bladed fuse looked okay, but when I replaced it the steps worked again.
Problem...
I've been disconnecting my battery to trace a parasitic loss. I think it was because I left AUX switch #1 on, which is always hot. While figuring this out, and disconnecting my negative battery terminal multiple times, the AMP steps stopped working. They don't budge when any door is opened...
I installed the ARB twin compressor and a 2 gal air tank under my hood. Power comes from the RAM auxiliary switch bank. There's a second on/off ARB switch under the hood. I routed the air line to the underside of the truck bed where I mounted an air chuck. With the 20'? ARB hose and gauge...
I replaced all five 33" factory highway tires with 35" 285/75r18 Wildpeaks on the stock 18" rims. With a bit of airing down, and tweaking the sheet metal heat shield I was able to just fit the spare under the bed. I carry a camper, so there's no room in the bed for the spare.
We travel to...

I just installed their replacement front driveshaft with a double cardone instead of the factory CV joint.
It looks like the shaft can come very close to hitting the edge of the CV body. Mine failed twice resulting in a slit to the rubber boot, hence spilling all the grease. Keep an eye on it.
I have had the front driveshaft replaced by the dealer twice in 7500 miles on our 2021 3500 hemi.
Apparently the fifth gen RAM trucks have a CV joint on the transmission side. After a camping trip to Nevada I discovered my brand new truck had puked grease from the transmission end of the front...
I went through two of those CV joints, exactly where you circled the problem.
I just replaced it with https://drivelinesplusinc.com/2019-2023-ram-2500-3500-front-driveshafts/ with Spicer u joints. So far, so good.
I found rodent footprints all over my engine compartment after camping in a meadow located in a remote part of Nevada. I shudder to think what would have happened if they had chewed our wires. It was near where the Stolpa's nearly died one winter, if you remember the story. A buddy worked...
I recently installed the CKMTA12 in my 2021 6.4 Tradesman. Wiring went pretty smooth, but I didn't understand which set of connectors I should use for compressor only, no locker option. And don't forget to ground the tiny black wire! The switch needs its own power, oddly. ARB loom is good...
