    Transmission Lock-Up - electronics?

In our case it only wound up needing a replacement cable/connection from the transmission to the computer or whatever threw the code and locked up the transmission. Hopefully it's something comparable and not a major issue! Good luck!

    Amazing truck with no problems

There can be issues with any make/model/year. I bought a 1989 Ford F-150 brand new (first truck I ever ordered EXACTLY spec'd the way I wanted it) and about 150 miles past the basic engine/drivetrain warranty period, it started leaking coolant overboard. I paid to have that repaired, and held...

2023 Camping Season, what are your plans?

I'm retiring at the end of March. After some honey-do list things for my spousal unit of 42 years (she's two years younger and still working, but has lots of vacation time) we'll probably meander through Michigan's UP. Maybe down to the Dells in Wisconsin or over to Minnesota. Hocking Hills...

Impressed with how good 4th gen trucks still look

That is a great color blue. My dad had a '99 in that 'electric blue' or whatever they called it back then!

    EcoDiesel Discontinued.

No - what I'm saying is that after the flash, my MPG's on the ED went from mid 20's (highway) to upper-teens, and like 10-12 mpg pulling my RV. I'm getting nearly that same mileage with the Hemi; took a trip to Florida last March (not with the RV) and averaged 22.6 mpg for the trip. Get 17-18...

    EcoDiesel Discontinued.

I'm one of the unlucky ones; I had a 2015 and had nothing but trouble with it - especially after the emissions 'flash' turned it into a gutless wonder. (I know, there are aftermarket chips and features to give it back its power, but I was hoping for a 'stock' motor I could rely on for years.)...

    Fog lights not stable

As it's been miserable weather and I didn't want to be crawling around too much under my RAM, I opted for the cable-tie option. I positioned the wobbly housings where I wanted them and anchored them in place with three strategically-located heavy-duty cable ties on each. Next time out on...

    Fog lights not stable

Just found this thread. Been gloomy here in West Michigan (like <1% sunshine in 2023) and had my fog lights on a lot after dark in the gloom and fog from warm air over the blizzard snow we had Christmas weekend. Noticed the fog lights bounce the LED beam all over the road. Crawled under the...

    Oil question

It's been a number of years ago, but Consumer Reports did some huge comprehensive tests on all kinds of oils in taxis in New York. They started out with new engines, did 3000, 5000, 7500 and 10,000 mile oil changes on the taxis - each with given brand of oil. (e.g. Pennzoil, Havoline...

Your ACTUAL gas Mileage with a 5.7 Hemi

My 2019 RAM 1500 Classic with the 5.7L Hemi (4x4 Quad Cab) actually gets about the same mileage as my 2016 RAM EcoDiesel did - AFTER they (FCA) screwed with the computer for their emissions fiasco on the diesel. (Plus gas is currently well over a buck a gallon cheaper than diesel now.) Anyway...

    Upcoming FTC arbitration hearing advice

Wow... I had troubles with my 2016 Ecodiesel; it was an amazingly powerful and fuel-efficient machine until the EGR housing cracked and then the emissions 'flash' turned it into a gutless wonder. I'd heard the newer Ecodiesel engines were 'totally re-engineered' but sounds like they've got...

    POS electronic tailgate

I thought I'd replied to or posted on this. I drove from snowy Michigan to Georgia (through snow and ice) with y 2019 Ram Classic Bighorn (which I bought new) and when I unlocked my doors/tailgate when I got to my destination to get some heavy tools out (generator, air compressor - things you...

    Ram warranty/customer service nightmare

Wow - so sorry about this issue with your Ram. I had a transmission failure of sorts with only 14,000 miles on my 2019 Ram 1500 (trailer-tow package) but I was just driving down a back-road on the way to a remote scenic waterfall in Michigan's Upper Peninsula - without the trailer at the time...

Why do trucks still come with carpeted floor mats?

My 2000 Dodge Quad-Cab 4x4 came with carpeted mats. I used it as a truck, live on a gravel road, have a gravel driveway, and would have to haul them out and pressure-wash them every month or two. My 2016 RAM Outdoorsman (which I bought used) came with rubber ones (I suspect came standard) and...
