Last night I spoke with two guys who work at the Nevada Tesla factory. They were even somewhat laughing at how a lot of their battery materials are mined in Canada, shipped to Nevada by diesel trains, then trucked to the plant in diesel trucks. Both of them drive diesel trucks and stated...
We were loaded up and ready to head to Bodega Bay on the CA coast but never left the house. No way I was going to tow over Donner Pass in ice and snow.
The reservation process is sometimes difficult around here too. A lot of places we looked at were booked six months to a year out.
I have a buddy who had an Eco, I believe it was a Laramie. His payload was about 950 lbs. It towed his travel trailer well power wise but even with a 25ft travel trailer I'm sure he was well over payload capacity loaded with his family.
The problem usually is the payload capacity. My brother's 1500 Laramie had barely 1300 lbs of payload despite Ram stating it would tow over 10,000 lbs. My Grand Design 260RD is supposedly 1/2 ton friendly but it's probably not possible as the claimed dry pin weight is about 1300 lbs empty...
I checked mine and they were tight but I'll do a double check with the torque wrench. There's a YT video out there where a guy put a camera under his truck and drove around. You could see the cab moving up and down on the mounts which appears to be making the noise.
I had a 2015 2500 with the Cummins which I sold and bought my 2019 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi. I had several emission sensor failures which luckily were repaired under warranty but it made me nervous as I only towed my 8000lb travel trailer about 5 times per year. A few diesel repair shops in my...
My brother had a 2019 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 and 3.92 gears. He thought it towed his travel trailer ok, which probably weighed around 6000 lbs dry and was about 26 feet long He upgraded the trailer to an Outdoors RV which is around 7500 lbs dry and 28 feet long. I told him to get a 2500 for a...
My 2019 2500 looks exactly the same and makes the same noise hitting bumps. It's really annoying off road especially when I can feel the thud through the floor boards.
Nice 5th wheel, we just bought the same one and took it out for the first time last weekend. What an upgrade from our bumper pull trailer. The 6.4 towed it pretty well but I wouldn't want to go much heavier at my elevation with the mountains.
I hear ya on the electronics. I used to like techy stuff, now I want to throw it against the wall.
Alfa Obd is an app that you can use with an Obd plug and unlock cable which allows you to access settings in your truck. Unfortunately it seems I can't change much in my 2019 but turning off the...
