If the mechanic broke it he has to fix it. If it is a known issue, they should had told you BEFORE starting the work in order to make you aware of it. For example radiator hoses that are old tend to crack when you replace other components. A good place will tell the customer that and prepare the... -

So essentially you only notched the button back plates so that they can be placed in the opposite side correct? What about the harness? No modification there? Is the picture you showed only to illustrate that the harness is piggybacked from factory? I might attempt this later today. Thank you!- Naldo1710
