    Downshift

I have the same issue but mine does it from 4th to 3rd on my 22 ram 2500 with the 6.4…with tow haul mode engage, it does not do it. I think it a software issue and not a hardware issue

doing the famous cam and lifter job after 166000kms

Just a food for thought, since you’re doing all this work to your truck. If you don’t like the MDS, now would be a good time to delete the whole system and use non MDS lifter and cams. Get a custom tune and permanently delete the system.

Terrible towing with factory air suspension

Side note with factory air bags vs aftermarket helper bags. The aftermarket bags still have the support of the original coil springs, helper air bags only need to assist and mask any issues with incorrect balancing of cargo. The factory air bags, you lose the rear coils so you relying solely on...

Need some help deciding a trailer

So I’m the market for a new trailer, I have a 22’ ram 2500 CCSB w the 6.4 4wd and 3.73, I do a little of everything but mainly will be using it to move cars, some light equipment, building materials, etc Some options me for me are bumper bull, no gooseneck hitch 20’ 10k car hauler with 2 ft...

Why should I stay with RAM?

biggest draw back to the current 3/4 and 1 ton ram is the smaller cab, the ram 1500 cab is drastically bigger, comparable to the F250 and GM 2500 cab size. Also you do get a bigger bed with both the GM and Ford. I would test drive all 3 brands and see what fits you the best. If your looking for...

Fifth Wheels By Keystone For 1500

There are a few “half ton trucks” that could pull a small 5th wheel trailer but there not really half tons in the scope of things… The older F150 with the HD payload package “unicorn” The older GMC and Chevy 1500 HD from like early to mid 2000’s The old dodge ram or just ram 1500 mega cab, idr...

Upgrade combos for towing and every day driving.

What size rims do you have on your rig? If you have 20” rims, you need to lower your tire pressure unloaded to mid 40’s. Loaded you should have your rear around 60. Honestly it’s the biggest difference without going to a smaller rim size. I had my old rig, 2016 ram 2500 on 20” rims and with...

Not a Power Wagon. But ZR2 Hd

ill admit myself, if my old truck got totaled in 2024 and not in 2022, i might of gone with a GM over the ram, the updated interior on the 24 is a major improvement, not quite as nice as a ram. The 6.6 gas w the 10 speed is a on par if not slightly better than the 6.4 hemi due to no MDS and the...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

Also with a toy hauler, they’re are usually tongue heavy to begin with compared to being fully loaded since most of your payload will be towards the rear, a bigger WDH is a must and anti sway. The 66rfe, it does ok but needs help, I planned on regearing mine from 3.73 to 4.56 to get some more...

How much better is a 2500 for towing?

Towed a 2001 28’ travel trailer 8500 gvw. with an older 04 extended cab 6.5 ft box F150, definitely was taxing on the truck on suspension, even with weight distribution hitch, towed the same trailer w my 3/4 ton and no weight distribution system truck (moving it to sell it) since the trailer...

4th gen or 5th gen ride quality

A few days late to the party, but going from a 3/4 ton w 20” wheels to 3/4 with 18” wheels made a ton of difference. old one was ‘16 and my current one is a ‘22. Even with less tire pressure in the ’16 with bilstein 5100, my ‘22 w smaller rims rides better. The smaller the rim and bigger the...

    2024 Tradesman 2500 suggestions

I went with the factory ram running boards on both of my trucks, the factory black ram ones are aluminum and not cheap painted steel that will rust in a few years

    MPG

2016 got 10 in town and 16 highway. Then the transfer case got flooded out and was getting 10 highway. 2022 gets about 11 city and 16-17 highway, 9 with the trailer loaded up. If Im taking the truck to my daytime job, i get like 14. I drive like I stole it thru traffic near NYC. My normal...

Power Wagon Towing - real life experience

I’ve notice w the rear coils over traditional leaf springs is that you definitely need to have little bit more tongue weight on the hitch to keep that trailer sway down. It’s probably due to the design of the rear suspension but otherwise no problems with them and great write up

    Clunk

my dealer knows about the issue on my truck. The first time they couldnt duplicate the issue, the second time I took the tech out and after a few minutes i was able to duplicate the issue. They tried a few things but ultimately it’s going back to the dealer and opening a case w Stellantis for...
