I run 50 in the front and 35 in the rear empty. With our 7k TT I run 50 in the rear also. Rides as well as a 1/2 ton truck. It does get a little firmer when towing but nothing like the class 8’s I’ve been used to driving.
I consider pulling the load 25% of it and stopping the load 75% of it. We have a 2500 CTD and pull a 28’ 7k bumper pull TT. Can’t tell the trailer is back there going up or coming down. We don’t get to travel nearly as much as we would like but usually get in about 5k miles a year. Have NEVER...
You can take your foot off of the brake pedal after you push the start button and not feel or hear the power steering unit through the hydraboost for the brakes. It will still fire up after the grid heater disengages.
The oil change interval changed in 2013 when the DEF fluid injection started. The DEF allowed a reduction in the amount of EGR the engine was subjected to. High idle time, short trips (especially in cold weather),higher than normal regen frequency and city driving all considered severe duty. As...
I went to the dealer the other day to see if I could get the Y43 (missing sensor) recall done and was told they would have to order the parts. I asked about the transmission dipstick tube and long locking dipstick and they said mine had already been done. So I asked if they could look and see...
The missing sensor is in the SCR and counts particulates emitted after going through the system. It has zero to do with the regen issues. The issue can be caused by a world of things. From injector leaking, turbo seal weeping oil, a sensor not working properly or even an air filter restriction...
Idling is the major problem with fuel mileage. I just completed a 2000 mile trip to Taos,NM and we took the high road in and out. My average on the EVIC shows 10.5 but I didn’t put a pencil to it. We were towing a 7k TT and several times I had to bump the brakes on the down hills but the E brake...
