P1404 egr close position performance
Had this code pop up. Replaced egr with factory unit. The code is still coming up. What should I look at next??? All searches just say replace egr and yoi are good, well I am not good. Lol. Old egr was covered in carbon build up. Burning a ton of oil??? Should I do a compression test?- Omegasupreme

I am at 150k right now and it's acting up. I get jolting downshifts, almost like trailer brakes locking up. I would not trust the temps on your display at all. There was a video by watch wes work, where he was working on a ram. The temps were artificial on the gauges and we're not accurate.- Omegasupreme

Transmission shortage
That's what happens when you make an inferior product, and it's made over seas. I couldn't even stock pads for my truck for like 6 months. They all come from China.- Omegasupreme

6.4 getting a make over or going away?
If they could make a gas engine with around 600 torque, I'd be all in. Downshifting is what kills the mpg in gassers with the 6.4.- Omegasupreme

You must be driving 55. I put a single axle trailer with a mower on it and its 9-10. It's like the computer knows when a trailer is hooked up and immediately dumps fuel. If I put a fully loaded dump trailer, 4-5 mpg. Maybe.- Omegasupreme

You have to look at all variables. What's your time worth? How many more fuel station stops do you have to make? Even when not towing a diesel smokes a gasser. Don't get me started on a headwind. The 6.4 will dip to single digits on that as well. If you tow once a year under 400 miles...- Omegasupreme

Here's your lesson and lesson to anyone who wants to tow, don't get a gasser. It's that simple. These 6.4 are not made for being efficient while towing, at all. I have learned my lesson.- Omegasupreme

The 6.4 needs about 100 more torques. I bet it would get better mileage as well since mine is always bumping down gears to pull the trailer.- Omegasupreme
