    New tires lowers mpg

You may already know this, but when the tires are broken in the rolling resistance is usually better and you get a slight increase in MPG. For many people, they forget and get used to this for the second half of the tire life. But then when they get the exact same new tire, the brand new tread...

4 hours and $900 CAD to change spark plugs?

When you posted this I think you already knew the answer somewhere inside, which is that (in general) a dealership cannot be trusted and must be pushed to work within some boundaries. Even then you will nearly always pay too much. They have A LOT of overhead, so they need to charge a lot for...

I wish it was really that simple.

Does anyone else but me think there are way too many electronics in today's vehicles?

Most of the time the manufacturers are just adding gimmicks to try and keep the suckers buying new vehicles. What else can we add now? Here's a special arm that will reach out with a hanky when you need to blow your nose. Sometimes things can actually be helpful, although I've been driving...

Does anyone else but me think there are way too many electronics in today's vehicles?

Buy a used truck. They're great. You don't need the creature comforts of the newer trucks. By purchasing newer trucks you are technically feeding the problem. I drive a 1997 Toyota 4Runner, 2002 Toyota Tacoma, and 2005 Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins. I take good care of these vehicles because I...

    Vinegar in the Cooling System

People should be a little more careful before they speak. Some people think they are experts on everything. And then they think they become an expert on something because they spent 10 minutes searching it on the Internet. Of course, you should be careful about what you put in your radiator...

You like to move up to 2500

I love my 2005 Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins to death (manual). Never has needed much maintenance. Never been in the shop since I owned it, although I may need to do some work that is out of my league sooner than later. Never had major issues. Long as I don't drive too aggressive, gets 20-26+ mpg...

If you live or work on top of a hill

Forget about all the tech talk... yes, it might matter to some degree, but the fact is you just will have to use the brakes sometimes. No matter what you think about your gears, it's called gravity my friend and some of our trucks are pretty heavy. I live in the heart of Colorado mountain...

    Ram 1500 battery dead

Did anybody suggest a trickle charger with a desulfator? Having one of these around is handy, and can often rejuvenate an older battery. I started connecting my truck batteries up to one 2-3 times a year and got another 1.5 years out of my very old batteries. Finally am just replacing them.

Experience With AC Delco AGM Battery?

Hello 3rd gen Cummins drivers... Can anybody recommend the AC Delco 65AGMHR (88865697) for my '05 Ram 2500? I bought this truck last year, and OEM batteries are 14 years old now and on the way out. Looking for equivalent or better CCAs, and this $148 65AGMHR is priced VERY, very well at Summit...
