    Got an intermittent Check Engine light for vacuum leak in emissions system. Translate to gas cap. Replaced the cap, reset, and no light....for a few miles. Got 150 miles once before it kicked on. Reset, light out....Repeat. Checked as much of the vacuum lines around the fuel tank and forward...

    Get an electronic air horn. Whelen and Carson make a module. Speaker in the grill. I have an industrial clipper switch on the floor to activate it. Gets their attention.

    When I was in the Navy and working s part time pump jockey job, we would change oil and filter, refill, then run the engine to ensure no leaks.

    One of the Mercedes V6s has the cam bearing races machined into the valve covers. Take the thing off without doing something else and the cams pop up/out.

    I had solenoid pack go out on my 08 1500. Tech told me there is another filter under the pack that never gets changed since most corner lube joints will pull the pan and change the one filter only.

    Check as much electrical as you can. I mean look at the wiring. I've seen 3 and 4 butt connectors in a single line. It's like they picked up scraps off the floor to make a 20 foot piece. Each connector adds resistance. On the FD we used to occasionally tear apart a fire damaged RV and even...

    I've got an '08. No setting for led using alphaOBD. Mine turned on but kept blinking. Added resisters but still get an occasional on and off.
