    It took quite a while (more than a month) for mine to go from tick to louder tick to chirping like a bird, then misfire code and I drove it to Dodge limping. I slowly lost MPG as well and ended with a low of 16.2 with the misfire code on.

    My friend has the V6 and other than the failed oil cooler line, he has been very happy and tows cars to / from auto auction all the time. 90% of my driving is highway with MDS on so I drive a 4-cylinder RAM most of the time.

    When I ordered my 2012 2WD, all included (Hemi, RamBox, Towing Package, Spray in Liner, etc.) was $28,000 MSRP. In comparison, my 2004 Sierra 4x4 LM7 was $35K MSRP 8 years before my RAM. I am due for a new something new, but stuff is too expensive.

    If it ends up being CAM/Lifter, I just had this done at the dealership under lifetime warranty, and this is exactly what they replaced. Tech said on a 2WD, this is a relatively easy job. My truck now runs like brand new.
