My new truck is capless as well. That must be why Amsoil points out that their UCL and [newly packaged] P.I. are capless-friendly. I hadn't tried to put anything else into it before the UCL, so I'll take your word for it and stick with Amsoil. Mixed feelings about the capless so far. I...

Yes, I sold my Ram. I bought a new '19 Chevy Crew Cab Trail Boss a couple months ago and it feels like I'm back at home. I liked my Ram, but I love my Chevy. It's also the least expensive new vehicle I have ever purchased. It's fairly stripped down and doesn't have a lot of the things I'm...

Okay, so... not Ram related, but OIL related for sure. Coworker. '16 Lariat ecoboost. (I know. First mistake, whatever) Bought it brand new Oct '16. He's had it serviced on sched, at the dealer he bought it from, since new. These motors are known for cam phasers going bad before 100k...

Just a side note- I was in FL all last week until yesterday and rented a '19 Challenger R/T to mess around in Miami. Just to confirm-- FCA has STILL NOT addressed the Hemi tick in the 5.7! This thing ticked like crazy on every morning's 'cold' start for a good 10 secs... and I mean it just...

This video was published 3+ years ago. Amsoil has been through at least one major reformulation since then. He's testing at -30C. That is -22F... 8 degrees colder than Project Farm tests with. Is that 8 degrees the breaking point? Do you even know if the formulas sold in Russia are the same...

I'm not sure what you're suggesting. Could it be fact that redline didn't perform as well in cold flow testing than the preverbal generic cheapie out of the bottle was a sham? Out of curiosity, what separation would you like to see that can be attained without high dollar test equipment? If...

I think we'd all agree that he can't please everyone. It's not meant to be a be-all-end-all test. But, it will weed out the terrible ones right off the bat. Except for the few crazies up in the extreme north, the majority of engines will never see those extreme temps, so it's kind of...

Hey fellers... PF is doing an oil shootout on the Tubes. Redline against Supertech in this bracket. There will be an "Elite Eight Competition" at the end of the series. Two oils per week(ish). He's already pitted Amsoil against RP. If you haven't been following, it's worth a look-see.

Welp, sold the Ram. Can't say I miss it. Yet. The pile of accessories in my sig are for sale. LMK if interested in any of it.

I went through the Craftsman C3 line first. Batteries were Ni-Cad and lasted about 3 yrs. Li-ion was coming out and I was looking for a new line. I liked the size and versatility of the M12. I bought a few tools and was hooked. But, I still needed a good 18v line. Home Depot had comparable...

Keep Pascal's law in mind. Also, as U&A said, pressure is the result of resistance to flow. As Burla said, too much or not enough are bad. Each engine is different, but an average daily driver can be anywhere from the high 20s to 50ish warmed up at idle. Because the crankcase is not a...

Hey Fellas- Just checking in. Hope all is well with you & yours. Finally moved in to the "Forever Home" and have been working for about six months now. The wife & kids will join me in June when she retires from the AF and the kids get out of school. Until then, it's just the ol' bird dog...

Hey fellers-- been busy. Real busy. It's good to see this thread is still thriving. When I have time, I'll go back and read the several thousand posts I've missed. Real quick @SyN -- on some trucks, that will do it. On mine, it "says" it's "off", but it is not. Cannot spin, not even on...

    Hemi Tick - resolved

No... no, it's not. If you have leaking manifolds, it's called "leaking manifolds". The Hemi Tick is it's own thing. If someone refers to a manifold issue as the "Hemi Tick", they have misdiagnosed the problem by a country mile.
