Can you walk me through this a little bit more? I’m mechanically inclined and have tried everything. My last attempt was replacing the whole hvac/radio control unit, which I just did today and no luck. I have also lost my heated seat/traction control buttons.
Lots of googling lol. I’ll see if I can find the link but I stumbled upon a post where the OP had the exact issues I am having. His was resolved when he discovered the wires weren’t fully seated in the TIPM connector. When I investigated further on my own TIPM is when I discovered the corrosion...
Yep! Just cleaned all the terminals and connections, reinstalled…no bueno.
Truck starts and everything works as it should except the controls circled in the picture above.
Will be searching for a new TIPM.
Over the last year the knobs and controls below my radio screen have been intermittent and are now gone completely. After some research I discovered the TIPM is the culprit (see below pics).
Going to clean it the best I can and see where that gets me but looks like a new one is in my future...
Battery tested fine. In the car wash today, it dawned on me that this is only occurring when it’s raining or in the car wash. Water must be getting in somewhere ♂️
Over the last few weeks I have noticed my climates controls, heated seats/steering wheel buttons, etc. have been going in and out. Today, all of the buttons and knobs below the screen are gone. No lights or functions. I can control the climate from the radio screen and volume from the steering...
I soaked them over night but haven’t dug my vise out from our move yet. I’m satisfied with the wrap job or I wouldn’t have put them on yet. Just hoping they hold up lol.
Side note; I’m just now getting a CEL after about 40 miles of driving. I’m assuming it’s regarding the cats being gone and no...
I watched a couple videos, DEI’s being one. Just don’t have the knack for it, yet. I’m certain I’ll be doing this job on my fathers 1500 in the future so hopefully I hone my skills some. Did y’all use the recommended high temp silicone spray?
Me neither. Would be a cool option though if priced...
Now that I have drove the truck a little bit, this thing is freaking loud at WOT with the carven competitor series muffler. Sounds amazing on start up and while cruising. Definitely feels like the engine is happier.
I would pay extra to have them wrapped from the manufacturer. It’s a tedious process that I haven’t developed the patience for, yet. I thought I had them wrapped pretty tightly until I went to install the headers. We’ll see how well they hold up. I also used heat wrap on nearby hoses and...
I believe that’s the truck. I’m not expecting to get into the 11s with mine. It’s leveled with big Nittos. Just wanting a quick, healthy DD that I can keep for a long time. Seeing a truck with that many miles with that kind of performance was inspiring.
Well… headers are in. I decided to quit while I was ahead with the bolts that were broken off. I accept they will probably be leaking again here shortly, but I need to get the truck back on the road. I’ll address them again this summer when I have the proper tools and time. Poor planning on my...
Sooooo uhhhhh…. How hard is it to pull these heads??? Lol
I attempted to remove the rear passenger bolt with a left hand drill bit. No luck, as I expected. Then tried a quality extractor, which broke off in the head. The other bolt is the very front of the driver side and very difficult to...
Attempted to remove the studs broken below the surface today…for some reason I expected it to go smoothly. It did not. No access to a welder for a couple weeks. Might try another approach tomorrow. Pics below of my failure for your enjoyment lol
