    At a ~12% tongue weight your trailer's tongue will be 840#. That is the capacity you are using. The rest of your capacity is for passengers and gear.

    I tow a 6000# loaded TT that I tow with my '17 EcoD with absolutely no issues. Average 14-16mpg while doing it. The really good news is you won't have to use a 2500 as a daily driver.     I am curious as to the actual 5er weight. Pin weight is normally ~20% of trailer weight. My calculations come out to a trailer weight of 6750# which seems really light for a 5er. However if the unloaded weight is 6750# it will probably be near, or above, 8000# loaded which would be a pin weight...

    Just for reference. Trailer, 8000#=at least 960# tongue weight. Stuff in bed, probably close to 300#. Add 300#+ for 2 passengers and you come up 1560#. Don't know your exact payload capacity but I would bet you are right near it. My personal limit on my Eco Diesel is 6000#. Canyon
