I had a similar accident about 4 years ago but at much lower speed, but what looks to be similar damage. The frame was not bent as all the damage was absorbed by the sheet metal and bumper. $5300 later, good as new, everything lined up properly and functioned as new, 100% all on the other...
Not that I've ever done it, but make sure that you have inserted the rods correctly, end to end, because if you get them backwards the noise they make sounds alot like what you described. Not that I would know from personal experience!
In response to post #8, I had a similar problem but solved it by inserting a piece of quarter inch galvanized screen over the air inlet tube at the wheel well junction. I just folded it over the end of the tube on the engine side and not one of those little monsters has gotten into my airbox...
I have a set of Kuhmo Road Venture in stock size 275/60R20 114T on my 2011. They are giving good tread mileage so far and do well in snow, ride smoothly and quietly enough for me. Bought them through my local garage at what I thought was a fair price. I only get in a little bit of trouble when I...
I went through this exact same scenario 4 years ago, where OEM battery finally died at 7 years and 80K miles. Local garage supplied new battery, having shown me how the original was truly dead, and then went over every ground point and connector in the forward half of the vehicle with an ammeter...
I think that most of the standard checkpoints have been named and should be checked to make sure everything is OK. i had a brake squeal that I couldn't isolate by myself and got the impression that something was dragging, so got the digital meat thermometer from the kitchen and checked all the...
I had KO2's on my '99 Dakota which was "Intense Blue", and I liked the white letters out, but then as are so many others, I'm old and hold on to my old habits!
You have raised a legitimate concern of yours to the people who most want to help you be happy with your truck. Blaming the manufacturer for the oversight, however appropriate it might be, will accomplish nothing. The solutions offered are all good and you should probably implement one of them...
I was hit from behind about 3 years ago in my 2011 QC, 6.4 bed. Collision was sole fault of driver behind at about 20 mph. He admitted fault to Trooper at the scene. My insurance company referred me to their preferred shop nearby. Shop took care of everything, working with insurance, rental car...
I got 7 years from the original battery in my 2011QC 4x4, and was lucky enough that my local garage tech thought to check all my under hood ground points when replacing my battery. He found several that looked marginal due to temp cycling and corrosion buildup. Cleaned them up at same time as...
Following up to post #2, I had a situation where my 2011QC was running just a little slow and my first thought was dragging brakes. Got home home and smelled the bacon from the right front, used the back of my hand near the wheel to confirm that it was very hot and concluded I should just check...
Just as HoustonRam said in his post #16, my experience with my 2011QC was that lifting the seat base tilts the seatback up and forward just enough to get the headrests out to install my seat covers. Pushing the tabs might need to be accompanied by slight up and down on the headrest to allow the...
I didn't see anybody else talk about it but along with the MAF cleaning you might consider running a can of injector cleaner through the tank. I noticed an immediate fuel mileage improvement on mine at 80K miles. Might not be a bad idea to do that annually.
Just to add my two cents to the discussion, I was absolutely floored to discover that the small end wouldn't engage and turn the winch. It was only after cutting off the old winch and installing a new one ($65) that I discovered that we have to turn the square rod around to the opposite...
