Is it possible the thermostat was installed upside down? If you end up replacing the water pump again there should be a bleeder screw on the front though I've never actually used it. If it's just a stubborn air pocket the other thing you can try is have the truck parked on an incline with the...
Try changing the transfer case fluid. With my foot on the brake a shifting into drive or reverse my '06 would make a very loud clank. Changed the T case fluid and it sounded much better.
If you'd like to save some $ I've got used forged CP Carillo pistons .020" over stock, Molnar connecting rods and a 6.1L crank gathering dust on the shelf. Also have an intake from an '04. Send a PM if you're interested.
My 2006 2500 Hemi sounded the same after being rebuilt. Turned out to be a leaking exhaust manifold gasket. In my case I used a gasket for a 1500 Ram so the gasket wasn't sealing the EGR port on the cylinder head.
^^ they both look good
Yeah, I'll be right over lol. I've got a couple small leaks on the truck that I'm putting off as well but this one was spraying everything on the drivers side of the engine bay:insane:
You're welcome. No reliability issues that I'm aware of, it would be no different than turning the MDS off with a tuner. Since you'll have the front cover off you could replace the timing chain guides with new 6.1L Hemi guides since they're more durable. Other than that I'd leave the 300 engine...
If it's an '05-'08 5.7L it will work. You'll need to swap over the front cover, oil pan and manifolds as you mentioned. Not sure if the oil pick up tube is the same or not. Also remove the EGR blocking plate from your '04 engine's cylinder head and put it on the 300 donor to delete the EGR. Make...
