Yeah, if I recall correctly there are only some very expensive units that have the fancy canbus features, if you go aftermarket you generally won't have any of that stuff. I love that about this truck, no fancy stuff and just as easy as a 20 year old car to add a new unit

Here is my solution to the USB issue - ran the USB lead from the aftermarket HU to a USB plug and put it in an unused spot under the little storage cubby. Nice and clean and good to go for carplay/android auto

You might as well just get a nice aftermarket touchscreen car play radio. you'll spend WAY less money and get the functionality you need, and you already have physical hvac controls

I bought some Kicker 6x9 for my front and back doors - had to make some spacers out of mdf with a jigsaw. Tricky to get the fitment proper, but it worked in the end. I'm somewhat regretting getting 3ways as the dash speakers I used are quite sibilant and there's already plenty of high end from...
Just wire it right to the battery. the small amount of current the LED in the switch will draw when the trucks off won't affect anything.

my 15 with 80k(km) does this, and it began immediately after I gave it a tank of 91 after running 87 all winter and never having this happen. likely a gas thing l would imagine, I haven't switched back to 87 but I have a sneaking suspicion it'll go away.
only happens on cold starts, once it's...
yup. I have the ax200, which is the same as this just with a cd player. pretty sure any head unit will have to have the brace cut.

I have the Pirelli scorpion all terrain plus, stock size on my 17s. 10ply. I'm very happy with them, no flats and I've hit some SERIOUS cringe-inducing potholes. about 20k km on them so far.

such a strange thing to cut costs on considering the fact that it's a truck and likely to be used in dusty places.. SO much less cabin dust after I added the filter

I can see them being an issue if installed improperly of if they were warped from storage somehow, they come up beside the pedal in my Charger also. But as long as they're in right they haven't been an issue safety wise. rather have them there to catch the muck from winter

I found the weathertech mats have their edge right beside the pedal and it sticks out a bit, especially when they were new and stiffer. With work boots on I'd sometimes try to press the mat instead of the pedal.

Here's my rough country one installed and a look at the brackets it comes with. I decided I like the look without the splash guard better, to hell with aerodynamics
