I appreciate the reply, but I seriously doubt they used the term "Limited" because of the payload. What about a Longhorn that has basically the same options?
Mopar used the same term with the Grand Cherokee even though there are a couple of trim grades above it including a Summit my wife had...
Thanks for the in depth post. Yes, we had a 5th wheel, but towing with this 1500 will be completely different. The fiver was "half ton rated" and a piece of cake for my 2500. The current travel trailer we are looking at is just under 26ft with an advertised tongue weight of 711 and dry weight...
I am in the market for a light travel trailer. Trying to figure out my payload is a bit confusing. The yellow sticker in the door jamb says 1103 lbs. But according to Mopar in the link below, it is 1530 lbs with a CC 4x4 5.7ft bed and 3:92 gears...
Right now I'm looking at a Rockwood MiniLite that is around 6700 GVWR, but it's the 711 lb dry hitch weight thats got me apprehensive. Its less than 26ft long, yet my buddys 30ft Starcraft only has a 590 dry hitch weight. He has weighed it loaded at 920 and tows it with a '17 Tundra.
What a...
Sorry for the late reply, haven't been on the forum. I have decided not to tow with this truck after seeing the 1103 combined cargo weight on the door jamb sticker. When I got the truck, I assumed it had a higher rating since it had 3:92 gears and never even thought to look at the sticker...
I realize all the weight adds as I towed a 34 ft 5th wheel with a 2500 Cummins for a few years. Just never towed with a 1500. I'm not too concerned about weight as we plan on going with a smaller trailer, probably under 25ft.
There is another poster here that said he went from a 2016...
After living in our 5th wheel while our house was being built, the wife was burned out with RV's, so sold both the fiver and the Cummins. Well, now we are talking about getting a smaller travel trailer for 2-4 day trips. My current '15 Limited 1500 has the factory air suspension and I can't...
Boy this is not what I wanted to hear. I recently bought a 2015 1500 Limited with air suspension and looking at getting a travel trailer. I was apprehensive about the suspension but the truck was so clean I couldn't pass it up.
Got it installed this morning and took it for a spin. I thought it was on Sport+ 1, but somehow I got on Sport+ 4! It freaking jumped the first time I went to take off normally. A bit too much. So, I backed it down to Sport+ 1 where I had it in my Cummins and it is still very snappy, but not...
We lived in a 5th wheel while our home was being built. Sold the 5th wheel when we moved into the house so had no need for the Cummins any longer. I booked it on KBB and $53k was the average trade in value. I paid $51k for it from a Ram dealer over 3 years and 14k miles ago. About a month...
Awesome info, thanks! According to the link, it looks like the code I need is LM5 since the guy in the op had a truck basically like mine, a '15 Laramie. In defense of my small town dealer they really tried, but could not find the right code. I will go in on Monday and see if they tried the...
Yea, when I went in and asked about it, the service writer gave me the deer in the headlights look.
My problem with AlfaOBD is I am really a tech dummy and I read some reviews that people had issues where they really screwed up their truck and had to be towed to the dealer. Not many like...
Got an appt for the dealer today and after an hour and a half waiting, they couldn't do it. Not sure if they didn't have the right code or what. So now I'm wondering if the dealer coudn't do it, could an AlphaOBD?
