The end that the actuator is bolted to is what is different and that is what is bad on my diff. It's bad where the passenger side half shaft goes in at the diff and i figure a lot of metal shavings have probably gotten into the gears. I dont think that section is removable from the gear housing...- Shaun Clark

Ok. I found one from an 04 for $225, i was told they were the same so i got it but when i got home i found they look different. The 06 is an electronic actuator and the 04 is a vacuum. They are almost identical. Now i wonder if i can use it and just figure out how to hook up the vacuum actuator?- Shaun Clark

I have an 06 ram 1500 quad cab 4.7 and the front differential is bad. Can i use a differential from an 04? Are they interchangeable?- Shaun Clark
