4x4 crew cab lowering build. Need advice!

Inez seams to be the best right now. I have ground force 2" front drop coils and it's slightly lower than an stock 2wd. I only wanted to get low enough for the parking garages around me vs looks. I am on Bilstein 5100 front and some 3/4 ton Kb shocks in the rear. Only bottomed out once so far...

Having difficulty finding / deciding on a tonneau cover

I have a vinyl metal tonno pro on the ram and a extang solid fold on the F150. Both are secure and in good shape going on 4-5 years old. Biggest thing is the Solid fold is a much better insulator. Huge difference in bed temperature. I am sold on the 1/2" insolated design, keeps the bed much...

    Tire Balancing on lifted truck-(solved)

I would get rid of the Nitros, once they get a little out of wear they progressively get worse. Worst $1200 set of tires I have ever bought were my last Nittos. Only tires I have had to balance every rotation. Every time I rotated the fronts to the back I would get a rear tire vibration. I think...

    Air down tires ?

Driving in Iowa in the middle of winter on ice, lower the pressure if you want to stay out of the ditches. Lots of hearsay about handling and blowing a tire from low pressure. When you can't drive over 45mph without sliding off the road tire pressure makes a huge difference. Why do tires have...

    Looking for new tires

If your looking for a mild tire Cooper At3 is by the best option out there. If you want something more aggressive looking Falken At3 is also a fantastic tire. Not a fan of Michelin after buying $1000 set of tires and having balancing issues.

    Air down tires ?

2-3psi to float on snow. 10-20psi for sand, as low as you can go and not spin the tire on the rim. 15-25psi for off road, slower you go the lower the pressure. 25psi for negative temperature and ice. My cj secret is 15" wheels and 35s. More sidewall the better. My ram 20 inch wheels are...

    Strictly the 4x4 lowering thread...

I installed some kyb shocks that are 3" shorter than stock. They are stiffer than my 5100 Bilstein that I pulled off. Still working through my drop. Went from leveled to 2/3 drop so we can park inside parking garages again. 275/65R20 don't rub with 2 inch front drop.

Need to make buying decision based on towing; Please help!

10mpg towing is actually really good, 5.3 you have is about as frugal on gas as you can get. But being up near 200k miles you are rolling the dice on having something happen on a trip. Far as towing 8,000 pounds I would step up to 2500 if your going to do long trips. Towing with a half ton is...

How far would you feel comfortable traveling with this setup? (pictures)

I would spend some money on a wide angle back up camera for the trailer. You will need it if your married and want to stay married. Rear air bags, you can use them to help get unstuck by lifting and lowering you rear (longer the trailer the more you will drag it). Look into a couple of 2"x6" by...

    NOT Wrangler SRAs

My take on having both Falken and Cooper AT3s. The Falken AT3 on the wife's truck have better wear and traction off road compared to the Cooper AT3 on the work truck. Wet weather and ice traction is the same. However 4-6" snow the falkens just walk away. Falkens seem to do everything better...

4.56 or 4.88 gears for towing with 6.4 Hemi?

I would spend the money on 5.13 gears to help take as much stress off the transmission as possible. Only time you should avoid to much gearing is if you don't have overdrive!

    thinking of buying project truck

I think you are better off doing a 5.9 magnum based stroker. If you want more modern hemi pick the right year truck. Certain years don't have good tuning options. Money spent on adapting could eat a good chunk of the budget and more modern motor go fast parts are stupid expensive. Pick the body...

    Brand Loyalty

So I have a Ram 1500 and a Ford F150 so I am 111.6% loyal? My wife will be the first one to call BS. I never order the same beer twice...

Question on lifting a Sport 1.5"

I am at 2.1 on the front bilstiens with 1.5" rear spacer and sitting with less rake than factory. Ended up with about 2.5 inches of lift in the front. Sits about perfect and defiantly helped with load handling. Most people can't tell my truck is leveled with 275 65 20 tires unless I park next to...

    Overlanding a 1500 Rebel

Name the places you want to go? List how much gear you need/want? I did a week long trip in our F150 supercrew, through logging roads and sand up the Oregon Coast. No issues with a leveling kit and narrow 34s. Ran the same trip 5 years ago in my regular cab ram 1500. Hardest part was leaving...
