    Hemi tick 2.0

I'm 100% sure bent strap was installer derived. I installed those plugs shortly after I got the truck. They are NGK plugs. I also came up with 1 different coil pack. Odd. I had 8 matching coils when I took it for cam work. Mechanic a real piece of work. Won't ever go back to him. If you screw...

    Hemi tick 2.0

Just got it done. Problem solved. More qustions raised. Cyl 5 plug electrode ceramic broken and dropped. Cyl 4 electrode bent with about 0.080 gap.Wonder how that happens....hmmm? Chug is gone. Creeps easy when I let up on brake.

Big picture....5 grand beats 60 for a new truck. Can't afford that.

    Hemi tick 2.0

I believe they were oem Mopar lifters. It's either number 4 or 6. I have a feeling a short block is in my future. If I lose a second cam, that would be way too much metal thru the internals.

    Hemi tick 2.0

Update: 400 plus miles on engine after Lubeguard. Still have a Singer under the hood. (old reference for you younger kids). I got a CEL at idle last weekend, so I cleared it, rest the connector, and it hasn't come back. The problem I am feeling, is a chug at idle and under load. If I am at a...

    Hemi tick 2.0

Thanks for the encouragement. I have about 200 miles on it post Lubeguard. I guess I will try to be patient and wait. Maybe after a couple oil changes, it will subside. Anyone using synthetic 5W-30 Valvoline or other namebrand oil in their MDS hemi? I know Dodge says not to, but....

    Hemi tick 2.0

Update. Tick is back at idle, driving down the street, cruisin at 55. Only quiets down when MDS active. This makes me think there is a solution. I just don't have it. I realize those lifters bleed when MDS kicks in. So they get quiet. Anyone speculate or know what goes on internally when the...

Lubegard for motor oil ... so far so good.

    Awesome!! Thanks for the reply!

Lubegard for motor oil ... so far so good.

A stupid question beats a dumb mistake, I just added some Lubeguard and it helped after just a few miles, so far. (40 miles) Still a slight tick. Am I supposed to use a bottle of this every oil change? I get the plating aspect. Just want to keep adding it, if it will further protect my engine...

Small burnout. TCS limited my fun. A benefit of living in the country. And tires ain't cheap.

Fun fact...the mechanic is a retired Mopar trained mechanic. You just never know who to trust. That's why I will be doing my own wrenching from now on.

That bolt was probably broken by the mechanic who changed the cam and lifters x 2. Came out with a lil luck and a pair of surgery forceps. Luckily. Hard to prove, but it was my first time in there.

    Hemi tick 2.0

That wire trick would work. I tried to get some assembly lube on my way home the other night and some guy beat me to the last tube by about 10 minutes, so I used #2 Mystic grease to hold them in place. Also greased the new shaft and rockers with it to avoid a dry start scenario. I realize it's...

    Hemi Tick? Very frustrated

Sorry about your truck. That video sound exactly the way mine did. If I closed my eyes, I would have thought I was listening to my truck. I had 120,000 on my MDS 5.7. Had cam and lifters replaced after I bought it. Flat lobe #1. Had 2 sets (supposedly) of lifters on right bank replaced. Still...
