If it's just the boom and not the bucket as well then I'd say you have a valve issue rather than a pump issue. Seems to me if it was the pump them it would affect both not just the boom

The Tradesman is the work truck for Dodge. My 2500 is a Tradesman and it's plenty comfortable. Only thing I miss from my loaded Silverado is the CD player and seat heaters. If it was me I believe I'd look at a 4500 as well. It doesn't take much on a 40' trailer to get heavy

I set it on 5 then start down the road and when I reach 20 or so I put my foot on the pedal. If I feel the trailer pushing I go up on the gain. If I don't feel it I usually leave it. Haven't locked up yet. This is on a road with very little traffic
Haven't had either of them but can you use a small self tapping screw next to the attachment point in the spoiler? It's not technically "right" but I'm sure we've all done things like this
