I hear you on that. Did they make it right and fix it for you? As someone who had their truck worked on and the dealer let me drive away with my tie rods bolted back on after test driving it themselves I totally get what you mean when you say it's inexcusable.
I originally took mine to a...
As I told the customer care agent, the dealer that did the work has no idea what they're doing and after spending all this time on it they're not going to suddenly figure it out.
Hey all,
I am working to schedule an appointment with another dealer so that the customer care team can step in to resolve the situation. I'll keep you posted.
Lydia,
Thanks for your message. I am working to schedule an appointment with another dealer so that the customer care team can step in to resolve the situation.
I created a case this morning with the FCA USA Customer Care line, they are assigning a case manager to the issue and I should hear back within 1 business day. I'll keep you all posted.
I am going to reach out to @RamCares as well as contact the lemon law/repair help line at FCA that way they'll hopefully put pressure on the dealership to fix it and do it right.
As we know the original guy who did the repair work had no idea what he was doing and when i questioned his work and...
I have several in my area actually. I'll try that first and see what they say. I am guessing they'll defend the other dealer but at least then I'll know I'll have to escalate it somehow.
I have a mechanic shop I know that does good work, I am going to take it into them tomorrow and even if it costs a little bit to get a second opinion or have them point out what the issue is it will be worth it. Then I'll try to see if the dealer will make it right. I had none of these issues...
I just went under the truck and had my girlfriend turn the wheel back and forth. Nothing creaked or squeaked, however I did notice on the right side that there was some grease/oil where the CV goes into the differntial and the hose clamp/rubber boot sits. That is the side they did work on though.
There is a bit of clunky-ness in the steering when turning slightly left or right, and I noticed at highway speeds that a slight left or right turn would result in a vibration/feedback through the steering column. For what it is worth, when the dealer first did the repair they "forgot" to bolt...
Yeah, I think you're right about rotating without lubrication. Is there a possibility they messed up the alignment somehow? I never had a single noise like this before the alignment the dealer did.
I posted another thread hoping to get some responses on another issue, but here is the link to it as this it might be a related issue. To summarize, my truck makes this creaking noise from the steering column when I turn the wheel, only began happening after this warranty work was done...
