Best way I can describe it is to say with the stock converter it always felt like some sort of torque management was active. The truck just wouldn't launch hard when you punched the gas. With the new converter it just GOES. There is no delay at all in comparision. Really makes the truck more...- theviking

Yes/no. The extra displacement and long stroke very likely would have helped the low end considerably. The Gen 2 426 Hemi had a large bore and short stroke by comparison. I'm no trans expert but was told the stock converter is garbage by more than one reliable source. Could this contribute to your issues, that I have no idea. But I replaced mine with an Edge 2600 stall converter, along with a high capacity pan, and so far the original trans has held with 90k+...- theviking

6.4 Hemi - 8 Year Report
Don't know how much it's helped but I put a Mag-Hytec pan (2 more quarts) on along with a better torque converter. Also change the fluid out every 25k or so. So mar the trans is holding. Other then the lifter issue I l have no complaints about the motor. Considering the crappy trans gearing...- theviking

2020 RAM 2500 6.4L - Loud tick even after lifter replacement at 19K miles
