The lifter is really loud when i crank it and goes down to a lower tick after about 20 seconds. It only ticks at idle. Goes away immediately with any throttle

I know this thread is older but it was very helpful. If you get the PO300 code after a cam and lifter swap check the push rod alignment first. if i do another one, i will be turning the truck over before the valve covers go back on.
