    How much better is a 2500 for towing?

    We had a Laramie gas 1500. Bought a larger trailer (30', 10k gross with 1000# hitch weight) and then bought a longhorn diesel 2500. I have to keep reminding myself the trailer is back there! Only issue is with the tongue weight along with camping "stuff" we almost max out the usable load.

    New tires lowers mpg

    Just replaced all the tires with the same ones that came with the Longhorn 2500 '21. The MPG dropped 2.5 with the new tires...why??? Exact same tires!!! Any thoughts what would make such a drastic reduction? I put 1000 miles on the tires, recorded mpg by hand and it matches the truck computer...

    What should I expect in MPG while towing my RV

    2019 Tradesmen 1500 gas with 6000# 26' Airstream I was getting 12-13mpg, and 2022 Longhorn 2500 diesel with 9,000# 30' Airstream I get 14-15mpg. Never go over the speed limit nor do I poke along ...just stay in right lane except to pass. I have to keep reminding myself it is back there.

    2023 Camping Season, what are your plans?

    Mid April we plan to head from mid Tennessee to Maine going up along the coast (delmar peninsula) and then come back inland. But may have to change plans. Campgrounds along the shore are already reserved and nothing (descent) available.

    Personally I do not pay for extended warranties, or any other unnecessary insurance. Insurance companies are one of the most profitable businesses...worldwide. Figure out the monthly costs for all the warranties and insurance you have and put that money to work for you, not for someone elses...

    Swing Out Bed Storage Box

    I installed one a few months ago on my 2500. Not worth $200 but it does give me a place to put miscellaneous tools, jumpers, etc.. unfortunately like most other boxes it becomes a junk catch-all that needs to be "decluttered" often. Would I do it over again?...yes.
